Attack stance

Complex behaviour: the dog is in a frontal stance and then stiffens, raises his head and looks his opponent in the eyes, even just for a brief moment. This behaviour may be exhibited immediately before an attack.

This video was filmed during a behavioural evaluation. The Pit Bull Terrier shows a subtle reaction when the doll enters his field of vision. When the doll is moved closer, the Pit Bull shifts his weight forward, exhibiting an attack stance, then attacks. Blocked by the leash, the dog again exhibits an attack stance, growls, then attacks.
