Biting over the muzzle
A dog uses its mouth to grab another dog by the muzzle (from the side, from above or from below), and then closes its mouth in an inhibited bite. This behaviour may involve a rapid movement and be brief in duration, or it may be exhibited with slow motions.

The male Pointer mix enters the training field and is followed by a female Alaskan Malamute and a male Labrador mix. The Pointer mix stops, re-orienting frontally, then leaps forward and hugs the Malamute, who exhibits an offensive facial display. The Pointer punches the Malamute with his jaw, then re-orients in a frontal stance and leaps forward to hug her, again re-orienting frontally, sniffing the Malamute's muzzle. The female growls, leaps forward and hugs the male, exhibiting an open mouth display; she knocks him down, then presses him down with her body. The Pointer mix pushes the Malamute away with his legs and sniffs her muzzle; she growls and bites him over the muzzle. When the male rolls onto his back and pushes the Malamute away with his paws, she bites him over the muzzle then presses him down with her body, growling. The Malamute gets up and sniffs his muzzle and genital area.
