The female German Shepherd reacts to the approach of a male smooth-coated Border Collie who is charging towards her at a gallop. As the distance decreases, she exhibits a leap forward, then a leap forward with front legs/paws wide open, growl-barking and swerving to the side when she doesn't succeed in displacing the Border Collie. The Border Collie stops in a lateral stance; the female re-orients frontally and the two dogs exhibit muzzle to muzzle olfactory exploration.

In this interaction between two males, the Cane Corso approaches the mixed breed with a frontal path. The two dogs face off briefly; the Cane Corso then circles around the mixed breed, who re-orients frontally. The Cane Corso then again circles around the mixed breed, who lowers his hindquarters and then charges. The mixed breed moves away, followed by the Cane Corso; when the Cane Corso reaches him, the mixed breed lowers his hindquarters and threatens to bite. The Cane Corso swerves to the side, orients frontally, and circles around the mixed breed who is standing tall and still with hackles raised along the back and tail. The Cane Corso turns around the mixed breed, who attacks, exhibiting an open mouth display, and charges. When the Cane Corso orients frontally, the mixed breed exhibits a leap with front paws wide open and gapes, then rears up.
