Avoidance

The dog moves its head or entire body away from an object, a situation or an interaction with another dog. This movement is never sudden or quick; when at a fast pace it is defined as 'flight'. Avoidance may include crawling.

This male mixed breed enters the training field with head down. When the female Alaskan Malamute approaches, he seeks support from his owner, then looks at the bitch before again lowering his head and tail and, avoiding her, he again seeks support from his owner. The male arches his neck as he walks in front of the Malamute; when she leaves, he sniffs.
