Yawning

The mouth is open wide, neck stretched slightly forward; the dog may stay in this position for a few seconds. The top teeth may be covered by the flews or visible. Under stressful conditions, yawning may be accompanied by vocalizations.

This video was filmed during a behavioural evaluation. The male blue merle Border Collie reacts to the presence of an unfamiliar person with a low poosture, averting his gaze and sniffing the air. He licks his nose and ignores the perosn. He yawns slightly as he lies down, then yawns and exhibits vocalizations. He looks at the person, whines and exhibits yawning with vocalizations.
