Running
The dog trots or runs without trying to escape from
something, but keeping at a certain distance from a
stimulus. This behaviour is often associated with very
short interactions that are interrupted by the dog when
he begins to run.

This mixed breed female has reacted to
the approach of a male smooth-coated Border Collie by
beginning to run.
This Pinscher is exhibiting hackles
raised on its withers and is alternating brief
interactions with running.

The sable mixed breed female runs
toward the Staffordshire Bull Terrier bitch, who ignores
her and turns her attention to the woman present. The
Staffy joins the Border Collie, who is part of her
family group, and together they move away; the mixed
breed keeps running, but they ignore her. The male
Border Collie encounters the mixed breed female, who
sniffs, lowers her tail, swerves and then exhibits a jaw
punch and licks her nose when the male tries to sniff
her. The mixed breed stands still for a few seconds,
then begins to run in wide circles around the Border
Collie. He marks the ground with urine, and then
exhibits an eliminative paw scrape towards the mixed
breed. When the Border Collie approaches her, she begins
to run.

The young female German Shepherd in this video trots
toward a group of people, then stops and orients toward
her owner, without moving nearer. She again trots
in a circle, then stops and tries to move nearer to the
group of people, lowering her head to the ground.

This female German Shepherd approaches a group of dogs
at a run, and is
stopped by a female Australian Shepherd, who then
displaces her and forces her away form her owner. The
German Shepherd swerves to the side and runs away with
ears turned sideways, then stops to face the Australian,
who moves away. The male Border Collie follows the
German Shepherd at a run, but is slowed by the Pastore
Bergamasco. The Australian Shepherd bitch tries to stop
the German Shepherd, who continues to run
in circles around the people present, orienting towards
the gate. She continues to run
in circles, followed by the Aussie and the Border. The
German Shepherd stops in front of the Pastore
Bergamasco, and the two dogs sniff each other.

In reaction to the presence of two male Golden
Retrievers, a mixed breed female begins to run
and bark. She hurtles against her owner,
sniffs her and then begins to
run and exhibit high-pitched barking. She
follows one of the two Golden Retrievers,barking, then
is forced to swerve aside and is chased by the other
Golden Retriever, who tries to block her. She barks at
the Retriever, then returns to her owners, stops, then
chases the second Golden Retriever, while the first
Retriever seeks support from his owner.
