Seeking refuge

The dog tries to hide, seeking refuge under or behind objects or his owner.

The young German Shepherd is seeking refuge behind her owner. Her head and tail are down as she observes several unfamiliar dogs.

The Italian Greyhound is seeking refuge behind her owner. She is avoiding eye contact with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and lifting a front paw.

This young Segugio Italiano mix is seeking refuge between her owner's feet.

The male German Shepherd walks toward the female Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, head and tail held high, ears turned sideways and upwards in a courtship posture. The Mountain Dog moves into a lateral stance, her head turned toward the male; she then runs away with her tail between her legs, ears bent back and back hunched. When the Shepherd chases her, she seeks refuge under a table. She crouches, and when he tries to sniff her genital area, she turns and exhibits a jaw punch, then stares at him before leaving the interaction.

The female Alaskan Malamute displays an offensive facial expression as she approaches the puppy, who responds by seeking refuge under a table. The puppy barks and moves away, then flees, growling, and attempts to seek refuge under a chair. The Malamute chases him and stops in a frontal stance; the puppy exhibits high-pitched barking, and the Malamute approaches, wagging her tail, then moves away. The Malamute returns to the table and sniffs the spot in which the puppy had sought refuge.
