Tail up - Head down
The dog moves with tail held high with either both the
base and the tip of the tail raised, or with the base of
the tail held horizontally, the tip raised and head held
low. The posture is ambivalent.

This male Golden Retriever is moving with tail
up and head down, with piloerection extending
from neck to tail. In approaching the Pit Bull bitch, he
is moving at a trot and lowers, then raises, his head
repeatedly. When the female charges toward him, the
Golden Retriever swerves, then stops at a distance in a
frontal stance, standing tall and stiffly.
