Slow walk

The dog moves at a walk with slow, stiff movements exhibited together with: staring, hackles raised on shoulders/withers or along the entire back, ears pricked, tail held high or arched. Can be associated with a lateral stance, and is often exhibited immediately before a leap forward or charging.

The mixed breed male is walking slowly and stiffly when a mixed breed female approaches (she is wearing a muzzle).

 

The female Czech Wolf Dog approaches at a slow walk the male Alaskan Malamute mix, hackles raised on the neck and shoulders, offensive facial display and ears back.

The young male Border Collie approaches the female Golden Retriever at a slow walk. During this face-off the female stands tall and still, but avoids eye contact, and wags her tail.
