The dog opens and closes its mouth, clicking its teeth together; may be accompanied by a leap forward or a rapid movement of the head, an agonistic pucker, or growl-barking.

In this interaction between two females, the Airedale puppy follows the mixed breed adult. The adult ignores the puppy, and is attentive to the movements of the woman. When the woman moves away, the adult exhibits snapping and an agonistic pucker towards the puppy, who lowers her head and tail, then stops.
