Startled movement

The dog 'startles', displaying a sudden, brief reaction to a stimulus.

VIDEO

large screen
The video was filmed during a behavioural evaluation. The male Pit Bull is staring toward the exit. When the woman touches him, he turns his head slightly to look at her, startles, then wags his tail, which is held low, slightly. He moves forward toward the exit, then startles when he is touched again, then swallows and wags his tail. The third time he is touched he licks his nose, still looking toward the exit. This behaviour may be associated with the dog's ears having been cropped without anaesthesia.
