Anus marking

The dog rests or rubs his anus against an object, the ground or an individual.

The adult female Staffordshire Bull Terrier rubs her anus against the ground. The Golden Retriever bitch sniffs the anus of the Staffordshire; the male Golden Retriever sniffs her muzzle.

After having marked his owner's trousers with his anus, the Terrier cross sniffs and licks the area where he marked, then sniffs his genital area and marks the ground with his anus. He sniffs the ground, sniffs his anal area, marks lightly with a shoulder rub against his owner and then sniffs his owner's trousers.
