The Dalmation x Pointer cross positions herself frontally, wags her tail and arches her neck toward the Airedale Terrier bitch. The Airedale is in a lateral stance beside her owner. When her owner moves, the Airedale swallows and tries to make eye contact with her person. The mixed-breed steps back with one leg and stares at the Airedale, then moves backward a few steps and lies down. The Airedale averts her gaze to avoid eye contact. The mixed breed approaches from behind, and when she begins anud-genital olfactory exploration, the Airedale orients, tail down between her legs and ears flattened. The mixed breed nudges her with her nose displacing her and then interposes herself between the Airedale and her owner, arching her neck when the Airedale re-orients. The Airedale sniffs the mixed breed briefly, then moves away, followed by the mixed breed.
