Space control
Complex behaviour. The dog controls the movements of another dog, crossing its path and moving into its space, blocking it or moving to its side and crowding it.
(Capra, 2010)

In this interaction between two females, the black German Shepherd uses physical contact to control the space in which the Swiss White Shepherd is moving.

While the adolescent male long-haired Akita Inu runs after the Staffordshire Bull Terrier bitch, the male smooth-coated Border Collie controls the space in which the tricolour Border Collie puppy is moving: he crowds him, then stops him and shows a dominant approach. When the Staffordshire arrives, the puppy flops to the ground, showing passive submission.
